The Hanam City Dementia Safety Center in Gyeonggi announced on the 13th that it successfully completed the Brain Health School program at Misa Health Center on the 12th and held a graduation ceremony attended by more than 20 dementia patients and their families who participated in the program.
The Brain Health School is a cognitive rehabilitation program designed to prevent social isolation and loneliness and to slow the progression of dementia in dementia patients. It consists of art therapy, music therapy, exercise therapy, and occupational therapy, and has been conducted over a total of 10 months since February.
The graduation ceremony proceeded in the order of ▲ baking class with family (making Sangtu-gwaja) ▲ certificate awarding ▲ sharing impressions, and concluded in a joyful atmosphere.
A family member of a dementia patient who attended the event said, “During participation in the Brain Health School, there were more smiles and many days looking forward to the classes. It was very helpful not only for the patient but also for the family,” expressing gratitude.
The director of Hanam City Health Center said, "Congratulations on the completion of the Brain Health School for the elderly. I am very pleased that this program helped revitalize the lives of dementia patients and showed high satisfaction,” adding, “We will continue to do our best to improve the quality of life for dementia patients and their families through various programs.”
