Kakao Enterprise announced on the 13th that it has opened the 'Jeonbuk Kakao Cloud Digital Innovation Center' to create a digital ecosystem within the Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province and to nurture related talent.
The Jeonbuk Kakao Cloud Digital Innovation Center was established in collaboration with Kakao Enterprise, Jeonju University, and Ato Research with the goal of revitalizing the regional digital ecosystem. The center, designed with an area of 1,600㎡, is equipped with lecture rooms, meeting rooms, and office spaces. Previously, in September, Kakao Enterprise, Jeonbuk Province, Jeonju University, and Ato Research signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) regarding the establishment and operation of the Jeonbuk Kakao Cloud Digital Innovation Center.
The Jeonbuk Kakao Cloud Digital Innovation Center aims primarily to cultivate specialized talent based on digital technology and to support youth entrepreneurship and employment. Through this, educational programs centered on digital transformation technologies such as data, artificial intelligence (AI), and cloud will be operated.
The center will provide practical project-based educational programs and plans to systematically support young aspiring entrepreneurs by linking them with startup support programs.
Full-scale operations will begin next year, with special lectures for university students in the Jeonbuk region, including IT company employment strategies by invited digital field experts, and intensive cloud and AI specialized education will be promoted in the first half of the year.
Kim Kwan-young, Governor of Jeonbuk Province, said, "The opening of this center will be an opportunity for Jeonbuk to leap forward as a hub of digital innovation," adding, "I hope it becomes a place where young people can realize their dreams in the IT field and where local companies can find the talent they need."
Lee Kyung-jin, CEO of Kakao Enterprise, stated, "We will spare no support to make Jeonbuk Province a model case leading AI digital innovation based on Kakao Cloud," and added, "We expect the center to make a significant contribution to nurturing local talent and creating a digital ecosystem."
