Goyang-si Obtains Certification as a Leading Institution for Training Data Analysis Experts

Strengthening Goyang-si Public Data Analysis Capabilities
Expectations for the Spread of Data-Driven Administrative Culture

Goyang Special City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) announced on the 13th that it has successfully completed the "2024 Data Analysis Professional Talent Training Course" hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and received the "Leading Institution for Data Talent Development" certification plaque.

This is evaluated as a result of Goyang City's continuous efforts to innovate administration based on data and improve public services.

The "Data Analysis Professional Talent Training Course" was organized by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and conducted intensive training for about five months from April 2024 for 40 candidates recommended by central government ministries, local governments, and public institutions, covering data processing, AI modeling, and the use of large language models (LLM).

Among the trainees, 35 passed the certification evaluation and were certified as "Data Analysis Professionals," and 31 administrative public institutions were selected as "Leading Institutions for Data Talent Development."

In particular, Seo Hye-won, an officer of the Smart City Division of Goyang City, completed the course with excellent grades and obtained the "Data Analysis Professional Certification." Afterwards, Officer Seo is expected to play a pivotal role in leading Goyang City's public data analysis projects and spreading a data-driven administrative culture.

Andong-su, head of the Smart City Division, stated, "In the era of the Digital Platform Government, data-based problem-solving capabilities are essential," adding, "This certification is an important achievement recognizing Goyang City's data analysis capabilities at the national level, and we will continue to lead efforts to improve citizens' quality of life and enhance urban competitiveness through data-driven innovation."

Goyang Special City plans to further strengthen government innovation using public data and artificial intelligence technology based on this certification, providing better administrative services to citizens and accelerating development into a smart city.
