Adding Art to Citizens' Lives... Namyangju-si Youth Art Creation Support Exhibition

Namyangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Joo Gwang-deok) announced on the 12th that it held the Gyeonggi-do Public Art Project Presentation and Youth Creative Support Art Exhibition at the Youth Startup Center on the 10th.

The public art project is a business aimed at providing citizens with opportunities to enjoy culture, creating jobs for local artists, and recreating cultural spaces through talent donation.


The presentation was held with about 30 participants including young artists and city officials, and the works produced through the Gyeonggi-do Public Art Project and Youth Creative Support were revealed to the public, receiving great response.


Under the theme of ‘N Youth, THE Story of Winter,’ this exhibition will be held on the 3rd and 4th floors of the Youth Startup Center until the 18th.

Eight teams of artists participating in the Namyangju Youth Art Creation Support Project showcase works in various genres such as ceramics, illustration, and brick art.


The works installed in the plaza of Pyeongnae-Hopyeong Station will be with citizens for the next three years.


Im Seon Lee, the lead artist of the public art project, said, “I thank all the citizens and officials who helped make the project successfully completed,” and expressed her aspiration, “I want to continue presenting cultural and artistic works to citizens through good opportunities.”


Lee Hyung-sook, Director of the Culture and Education Bureau, said, “I applaud the passion of the artists who worked hard to prepare this exhibition,” and conveyed a congratulatory message promising continuous efforts for the development of culture and arts in Namyangju City.
