"Steadfast Plan Implementation Is Important"
Amid the impeachment political turmoil, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced its stance to proceed smoothly with the creation of new national industrial complexes following the housing supply.
On the 12th, the Ministry held the 7th meeting of the Government-wide Support Task Force for New National Industrial Complexes at the Government Sejong Complex, chaired by First Vice Minister Jin Hyun-hwan.
The meeting was attended by Lee Sang-il, Mayor of Yongin; Park Sang-don, Mayor of Cheonan; Kwon Ki-chang, Mayor of Andong; Son Byung-bok, County Governor of Uljin; and Lee Yong-rok, County Governor of Hongseong.
Vice Minister Jin emphasized, "In the rapidly changing domestic and international industrial environment, including the inauguration of the new U.S. administration, it is crucial that the national strategic industries establish a timely response system and that the plan for the creation of national industrial complexes is pursued without wavering to solidify industrial leadership."
He added, "We will ensure that project procedures, such as preliminary feasibility studies, are carried out smoothly through close cooperation between the central and local governments."
Currently, the Yongin Semiconductor National Industrial Complex is undergoing the designation process. The exemption from preliminary feasibility studies for the Goheung and Uljin complexes was confirmed in June, and the Daegu, Daejeon, Andong, Wanju, and Gwangju complexes have completed their feasibility study applications.
