"Funeral Home Not Easy" Pyeongtaek City Comprehensive Funeral Facility Candidate Site Fails First Public Offering

Pyeongtaek City announced on the 12th that, as a result of the "Public Comprehensive Funeral Facility Construction Candidate Site Contest" held from September to November, two villages applied, but there were no qualified applicants due to incomplete related documents. Accordingly, the city added that it decided to recruit candidate sites again by January 10 next year through discussions of the Comprehensive Funeral Facility Construction Promotion Committee.

Villages wishing to host the facility must form a hosting committee through a village general meeting and submit an application to the Senior and Disabled Welfare Team at City Hall with the consent of more than 60% of the households registered as residents as of the announcement date. The hosting area where the comprehensive funeral facility is established will be granted resident support projects within 5 billion KRW, as well as operational rights for auxiliary facilities such as restaurants, convenience stores, and cafes, and jobs will also be provided.

Areas within 1 km from the boundary of the comprehensive funeral facility installation site will receive 10 billion KRW in resident support projects, and the corresponding eup, myeon, or dong where the hosting area belongs will be supported with 5 billion KRW for long-standing projects. Even areas that fail after applying for hosting will receive 300 million KRW for village long-standing projects as a gesture of consolation and harmony among residents.

The city plans to select the final candidate site in March next year after document requirement screening, on-site inspection, feasibility study, and review by the Comprehensive Funeral Facility Construction Promotion Committee for the hosting applications received during the re-recruitment announcement period.
