Yangpyeong-gun, Recruiting New Students for Eco-friendly Agriculture University in 2025

Yangpyeong-gun, Gyeonggi Province (Governor Jeon Jin-seon) announced on the 12th that it will recruit new students for the 26th term of the 2025 Yangpyeong-gun Eco-friendly Agriculture University for local farmers and residents starting from the 16th. Celebrating its 26th anniversary, the Eco-friendly Agriculture University has produced over 2,100 graduates to date and operates a lifelong education program to nurture talents who will lead sustainable agriculture in Yangpyeong-gun.

The recruitment quota is 100 students in total: 20 for the Specialized Agriculture Department, 40 for the Returning Farmers and Rural Migration Agriculture Department, 20 for the Agricultural Products Processing Department, and 20 for the Rural Convergence Industry Department. Eligibility requires applicants to be residents of Yangpyeong-gun with no local tax arrears (only one applicant per household). Young farmers (under 39 years old) will be given priority. Those who have graduated from this university three or more times, as well as graduates of Agricultural Products Processing (Basic) and Entrepreneurship, and Returning Farmers and Rural Migration Agriculture (all new agriculture departments), are not eligible to apply for the same course again.

The application form distribution and submission period is from the 16th of this month to January 14th next year, lasting four weeks. Successful applicants will be individually notified and announced on the website on February 7th next year. The registration period for education is from February 10th to 14th next year.

The Specialized Agriculture Department at Yangpyeong-gun Eco-friendly Agriculture University trains smart agriculture experts. The Returning Farmers and Rural Migration Agriculture Department offers courses to acquire farming techniques and agricultural management skills. The Agricultural Products Processing Department provides courses in baking and confectionery using domestic wheat, and the Rural Convergence Industry Department covers rural tourism, healing agriculture, and marketing.

Application documents can be obtained at the Yangpyeong-gun Agricultural Technology Center, Farming Technology Counseling Office, and each eup/myeon office. Applications can be submitted at the Agricultural Education Team office on the 2nd floor of the Eco-friendly Agriculture Education Center at the Agricultural Technology Center.
