Taean County in Chungnam was selected as an excellent institution in the Ministry of the Interior and Safety evaluation, achieving outstanding results in the disaster response Safe Korea Drill held in October.


The county announced on the 12th that it was selected as an excellent institution after receiving high marks in all areas of the disaster response Safe Korea Drill, including △training planning and design △appropriateness of discussion-based and field-based training △public relations activities △improvement and feedback.


The '2024 Disaster Response Safe Korea Drill' was held on October 23 at the Taean Industrial Complex in Sakseon-ri, Taean-eup, with about 150 participants from 13 organizations including Taean County Public Health Center, Taean Fire Station, Taean Police Station, Taean Coast Guard, KEPCO, Ministry of Employment and Labor, and Seosan Chemical Disaster Joint Response Center.

The drill was conducted based on a simulated scenario in which a major fire broke out at a factory in the Taean Industrial Complex, resulting in the leakage of hazardous chemicals and casualties. A total of 32 pieces of equipment, including a wildfire command vehicle, street sweeper, grapple truck, and excavator, were mobilized, and the realistic training received positive reviews.


County Governor Ko Garo said, "Through this disaster response Safe Korea Drill, we have further strengthened our disaster response capabilities and cooperation system with related organizations. I would like to thank all participating agencies for their active involvement, and we will continue to take the lead in protecting the lives and property of our residents by developing the ability to respond quickly to new and evolving disaster situations."
