Damyang-gun Recognized as an 'Excellent Institution' in Food and Public Hygiene Service Evaluation

On the 12th, Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it received an Excellence Award in the '2024 Food and Public Hygiene Work City/County Performance Evaluation' hosted by Jeollanam-do.

This evaluation was organized to select outstanding cities and counties that contributed to food and public hygiene safety management. Jeollanam-do assessed 22 cities and counties within the province based on 20 indicators across 5 categories in the food and public hygiene sector.

The county received high scores in areas such as guidance and inspection of food and public hygiene establishments, prevention of food poisoning, and management to block food hazard factors. In particular, this year, it strengthened hygiene guidance and inspections targeting local restaurants, food manufacturers, and public hygiene establishments, and focused on creating a foundation for safe food production and distribution as well as improving hygiene levels through the efficient operation of consumer food hygiene monitors.

County Governor Lee Byeong-no urged, “Ahead of the 6th Damyang Santa Festival scheduled for the 24th to 25th, I hope that thorough kindness training and guidance inspections for hygiene establishments will be carried out to provide safe food and public hygiene services to residents and tourists.”
