Ministry of Health and Jeonnam Province Win Awards in 14 Evaluation Categories
Haenam-gun Public Health Center in Jeollanam-do received honors in 14 categories in institutional evaluations conducted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and Jeollanam-do, recognizing its outstanding achievements as a guardian of the health of county residents.
According to the county on the 12th, the health center was selected as an excellent institution in △obesity prevention △health management projects for the disabled △ICT-based chronic disease management projects. Among these, the ICT-based chronic disease management project successfully operated a mobile healthcare pilot project in collaboration with five local medical institutions targeting 30 chronic disease patients in the area, earning the Ministry of Health and Welfare’s Excellence Award.
In the evaluation hosted by Jeollanam-do, the center achieved excellent results by participating in △improvement of public health care quality △contributions to responding to emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases △infectious disease prevention and management achievements △suicide prevention projects △health promotion physical activity competitions △Life Love Relay Challenge contests, among others.
Additionally, it was recognized as an excellent institution for its capabilities in managing stockpiles for biological terrorism infectious disease preparedness by the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency, and received high scores in evaluations by the National Fire Agency for organic cooperation among emergency rescue support agencies and necessary emergency rescue capabilities during disasters, leading to its selection as an excellent institution.
Furthermore, the Red Cross acknowledged the center for its operation of mobile blood donation buses and contributions to blood donation, followed by its selection as an excellent institution in tuberculosis eradication projects and in senior health management projects based on AI and IoT technologies.
A county official stated, “We have achieved great results through the efforts of all staff to create a happy and healthy Haenam-gun for all residents,” adding, “Based on the achievements in 2024, we will do our best to continue building a healthy Haenam-gun in 2025.”
