Jindo-gun Recognized as 'Excellent' in National Safety Education...Commended by Minister of the Interior and Safety

Jindo-gun, Jeollanam-do, was selected as an excellent institution for national safety education and received a commendation from the Minister of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.

According to the county on the 12th, this award is given to institutions selected as "excellent grade" through the national safety education status inspection hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, targeting 268 institutions including central government agencies and local governments.

The national safety education status inspection evaluates the safety education implementation of the previous year for safety education promoting institutions such as central government agencies and local governments annually, according to Article 7 of the "Basic Act on the Promotion of National Safety Education." Excellent local government institutions selected include Incheon City, Gangwon-do, Jindo-gun, Seo-gu of Gwangju City, and Seo-gu of Daejeon City.

Jindo-gun was evaluated as leading the revitalization of safety education through efforts such as operating safety education experiences reflecting coastal area characteristics like sea survival and ship escape, recruiting and educating Children Safety Heroes to foster a safety culture across a wide age range, and promoting various programs including visiting safety experience education at events frequently attended by residents.

A county official stated, "We will continue to inspect and supplement the safety education system so that residents can acquire the capability to secure their own safety, aiming to make Jindo a safe place for its citizens."
