POSCO 1% Nanum Foundation Donates 10 Million Won to Gwangyang City

‘Poseokho Gwangwang Party’ Product Sales Revenue
City: "Planned to Use for Youth Book Purchase Support"

On the 12th, the POSCO 1% Sharing Foundation donated 10 million KRW to Gwangyang City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Jeong Inhwa) to support local youth.

The donation ceremony held at the Gwangyang Mayor's reception room was attended by Mayor Jeong Inhwa, Jeong Myeonghwa, Team Leader of POSCO Sustainability Management Office's Social Contribution Group, and Kim Jaekyung, Chairman of the Sarang Sharing Welfare Foundation, among others.

The 10 million KRW donation comes from the proceeds of goods sales at the pop-up store "Poseokho's GwangGwang Party," held at Gwangyang LF Square from October 25 to November 3.

This event was a "Collabo Pop-up" organized by POSCO to support the youth of Cheongchun Sketch Village in growing as local designers. It featured the sale of POSCO character "Poseokho" goods, which embody youthful passion and local sentiment, and operated various experience zones, receiving great response.

Gwangyang City plans to use the donation from the POSCO 1% Sharing Foundation to assist youth participating in the Gwangyang City Youth Book Purchase Support Project.

The "Gwangyang City Youth Book Purchase Support Project" supports 50% of book purchase costs up to 100,000 KRW per youth. Any youth aged 18 to 45 residing in Gwangyang can apply, and this year, 1,734 participants received support for 9,086 books, achieving a high satisfaction rate of 96.4%.

Kim Mira, Director of the Library, said, "We plan to utilize the donation well to provide benefits to even more youth next year. We will continue to operate the book purchase support project and others to practically help youth improve their employment capabilities and self-development."
