On the 12th, Chungnam Governor Kim Taeheum stated that People Power Party lawmakers should participate in the impeachment vote against President Yoon.

He also insisted that Representative Han Donghoon and the party leadership should "take political and moral responsibility and step down immediately."

On social media that day, Governor Kim said, "I am speaking out with a heart full of anguish," and added, "It is deplorable that the People Power Party is floundering with complacent thinking while the country is on the verge of collapse."

He continued, "I also oppose impeachment and wish for an orderly resignation and stable resolution," but pointed out, "However, I hear that President Yoon is irresponsibly preparing legal measures in response to impeachment and forming a legal defense team."

He further criticized, "Representative Han Donghoon and some of his followers are also showing signs of supporting impeachment, and the process of electing a new floor leader is utterly disgraceful."

He argued, "The situation is not easy," and added, "If this is the case, all People Power Party lawmakers should participate in the impeachment vote and proceed with the impeachment process with a 'yukchamgoldan' (resolute determination to sacrifice for the greater good) mindset."

He also added, "No matter what decision is made, a united decision is better than division."

Governor Kim emphasized, "I say this again with a heart as if cutting my own bones," and urged, "President Yoon Sukyeol should not shift responsibility to the party, but, in the spirit of 'gyeoljaehaeji' (the one who tied the knot should untie it), apologize to the people as soon as possible and clearly explain the reasons and stance for declaring martial law."

Regarding Representative Han Donghoon and the party leadership, he reiterated, "They should take political and moral responsibility and step down immediately."

He added, "The party must form an emergency committee, gather the will of the party members, take down the party signboard, and be reborn with the determination to establish a new party."
