Secured Special Grant of 150 Million Won
Gochang-gun, Jeonbuk announced on the 12th that it won the Excellence Award in the Basic Local Government category in the ‘Local Government Neulbom School Linkage and Cooperation Best Practices Contest’ hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, securing a special grant of 150 million KRW.
Under the theme of ‘Gochang Neulbom School Where Dreams Grow,’ the county was highly evaluated for establishing a systematic plan including infrastructure development to meet the demand for Neulbom School and operating region-specific programs linked with local governments and regional resources.
Taking this contest as an opportunity, the county plans to expand customized care policies for parents and children and further strengthen the cooperation base with the Office of Education and the local community.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety held the contest to promote excellent cases supporting the operation of Neulbom Schools that meet local conditions and demands in line with the full implementation of Neulbom Schools in 2024.
A total of 42 local governments nationwide submitted 46 cases, and among them, 18 excellent cases were finally selected, including 3 from metropolitan cities and provinces and 15 from cities, counties, and districts.
County Governor Shim Deok-seop said, “The county, the Office of Education, and the local community will continue to cooperate to make Gochang a better place to raise children.”
