Im Eun-jung, the chief prosecutor of the Daejeon District Prosecutors' Office, stated, "Even prosecutors who shared similar views with President Yoon Seok-yeol claimed that President Yoon would step down during the martial law crisis, indicating that the prosecution internally has distanced itself." Im has been a vocal advocate for prosecutorial reform, positioning herself as a whistleblower within the prosecution.

On the 12th, Im appeared on MBC Radio's 'Kim Jong-bae's Focus' and said, "(Martial law) refers to the incident where President Yoon declared martial law in front of cameras and deployed police and military forces to invade the National Assembly," adding, "It was such a blatant incident, like public indecency in front of CCTV, that any reasonable person, not just a legal expert, would conclude the matter."

She continued, "The race has begun over who among the prosecution, police, and the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials (CIO) will claim the spoils, and their steps will truly become reckless," stating, "President Yoon Seok-yeol has already become the prey."

Regarding opposition party suspicions of a botched investigation due to the fact that Han Dong-hoon, the leader of the People Power Party, and Park Se-hyun, the head of the Martial Law Special Investigation Headquarters, are high school and university alumni, she said, "Special Investigation Headquarters Chief Park Se-hyun is the son of a legal aristocrat who has lived gently like a greenhouse flower, praised by people and obediently following orders, just a bland and colorless prosecutor," adding, "It is neither President Yoon nor Han Dong-hoon who is directing Park Se-hyun."

She also mentioned rumors within the prosecution that after former Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun was urgently arrested and detained by the prosecution, Han Dong-hoon was betrayed by Park Se-hyun. She said, "Why would Kim Yong-hyun go to the prosecution at dawn if not because he trusted them?" and "Han also trusted Park Se-hyun of the Seoul High Prosecutors' Office and allowed Kim to be taken into custody, but Park Se-hyun betrayed Han Dong-hoon, which reportedly made Han very angry."

Im predicted that the key to future investigations will be which among the prosecution and police first secures President Yoon Seok-yeol's custody. She said, "President Yoon has entered a long-term sit-in protest inside the security facility known as the presidential residence, and there is no way to get him out of the security facility," adding, "There is also little way to get in, so it seems difficult to secure custody before impeachment."
