In particular, this on-site inspection was carried out as a joint inspection with mandatory participation from the agency's management, focusing on creating an atmosphere that expresses the government's commitment to industrial accident prevention and raises awareness at the sites.
The inspection targeted high-risk workplaces for cold-related illnesses during the winter cold wave, such as structural work, confined space operations, and welding and cutting tasks.
Director Gong Heung-du stated during the inspection, “Last year, a total of six major accidents occurred at the end of the year in Busan. This year, we are further strengthening inspections during the vulnerable year-end and New Year period. Not only in construction but also in shipbuilding and service industries, which are vulnerable sectors where major accidents can occur, we will continuously allocate all available resources to minimize the occurrence of such accidents.”
