Taean County in South Chungcheong Province will take strong measures based on its basic security plan for the government building to respond to attempts to disrupt official duties, such as distorted forms of one-person protests currently taking place inside the premises.

The county announced that it will clearly define the boundary of the government building, including the land and structures, as the official premises, and will strengthen legal actions against illegal activities such as unauthorized occupation and refusal to vacate by protesters.

This measure comes in response to recent incidents where a one-person protester used a vehicle to unlawfully occupy the premises, broadcasted defamatory messages against the county and played popular music through loudspeakers, thereby disrupting the work of public officials and causing anxiety among visitors.

According to the basic security plan, the county will designate the Deputy Governor as the chief security officer, the Head of Administrative Support as the main building manager, and will operate a civil response team and a building security team.

Cooperation with relevant agencies such as the police will also be implemented. Security guards will be stationed at the newly established main gate post, as well as at the information desk and the civil affairs office.

Additionally, based on the boundary of the premises, Taean County Government Building will be designated as a protest- and demonstration-free zone, prohibiting all gatherings and protests, including one-person protests, inside the building to enhance convenience for visitors.

Furthermore, the county plans to immediately enforce eviction after issuing a notice in cases such as: occupying part or all of the building for protests or sit-ins; causing disturbances or intimidation that hinder official duties; or causing inconvenience by occupying public property inside the premises for an extended period without authorization.

In addition, if there is a concern about group protests, malicious complainants entering the premises, or unauthorized occupation of the building, the county is determined to ensure a safe environment by requesting facility protection from Taean Police Station and taking action against malicious complainants and illegal actors.

Park Junseo, Head of Administrative Support, emphasized, "We will take strict measures against illegal actors who behave abnormally, such as using loudspeakers to defame Taean County without any legitimate reason or purpose, rather than raising valid civil complaints."

He added, "We will continue to work steadfastly so that public officials do not suffer and visitors can receive the appropriate services they deserve."
