The Wando Lifelong Education Center offered 145 courses this year, with 2,745 residents enrolled, and the literacy education support project registered 572 people in 60 classrooms.
As part of external cooperation projects, it is operating a psychological counselor training program with Suncheon National University and a senior model course with Chonnam National University. Additionally, as a network building and strengthening project, regular meetings for lifelong education instructors and literacy teachers were held. To develop lifelong education personnel capabilities, refresher training and class evaluations for literacy teachers and capacity-building education for lifelong education instructors were conducted, and various events such as lifelong learning art festivals and expos were held and supported.
A notable excellent case in this evaluation was granting instructors lifelong education operation guidelines and participation and decision-making authority in projects. As a result, instructors' job satisfaction and sense of responsibility increased, leading to voluntary and proactive participation, which raised the number of learners by about 10% compared to the previous year.
County Governor Shin Woo-cheol said, “Being selected as an excellent city/county for lifelong education activation for three consecutive years was possible thanks to the hard work of all those involved. We will not be complacent and will continue to strengthen infrastructure and provide constant support so that we can firmly establish ourselves as a strong lifelong learning county.”
