On the 11th, Chungnam Province awarded certificates of excellence to 43 companies in the province that are implementing the "Strong Chungnam Full Care Support Policy," which includes support for childbirth incentives, childcare expenses, and a four-day workweek.
The province provides an incentive of 10 million KRW to companies recognized for excellence in childbirth and childcare, and an additional 10 million KRW to those introducing a four-day workweek.
So far, the province has implemented policies to encourage childbirth and spread a culture of supporting child-rearing as part of efforts to overcome the low birthrate crisis.
Hando, one of the selected excellent companies, does not reduce wages for employees who shorten their working hours during the childcare period and provides up to 10 million KRW in childbirth incentives and 2 million KRW in childcare expenses.
Airtech Solution has introduced a remote four-day workweek, offers a childbirth incentive of 200,000 KRW, and provides items such as strollers.
G-Tech, which provides up to 3 million KRW in childcare expenses, has established women's lounges and maternity lounges.
Korea Fukoku grants paid leave for infertility treatment and provides 1 million KRW for treatment costs, as well as offering 90 days of paid leave before and after childbirth.
Governor Kim Tae-heum stated, "While the private sector is making efforts to create a corporate culture that supports employees and their children, there must be many practical burdens. The province will actively support more companies in establishing work-life balance systems so that a culture of supporting child-rearing can spread."
