At the meeting held on the 11th in the city hall's main conference room, as part of efforts to revitalize the MICE industry, the agenda included a report on the outcomes of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change Conference of the Parties held in Azerbaijan, aimed at attracting international conferences and expanding the global network, followed by discussions on major current issues.
As this was the last executive meeting of the year, the city shared significant achievements across the administration despite the challenging circumstances, including the designation of the bio-hydrogen specialized complex and opportunity development special zone, the groundbreaking of POEX, and the confirmation of the memorial park site.
Furthermore, there was a consensus on the need for continuous efforts to become a city capable of competing globally in all areas such as corporate investment and attracting international conferences for sustainable urban development.
Above all, although difficult conditions persist due to the stagnation of local key industries and a turbulent political situation, the city plans to mobilize all administrative capabilities to stabilize livelihoods and revitalize the local economy.
To this end, Mayor Lee requested participation in the promotion of ‘Good Consumption,’ a healthy consumption campaign aimed at revitalizing small business owners and neighborhood economies without reducing consumption during the year-end and New Year period, fostering a community where everyone can live together.
Additionally, to ensure the uninterrupted progress of key priority projects driving regional development, the city will proactively respond to the supplementary budget settlement and secure national funds, and at the same time, swiftly execute local finances such as next year’s jobs budget to minimize the impact on the livelihood economy.
Alongside this, the city will strengthen wildfire prevention activities during the dry winter season to avoid any damage and establish public service discipline, urging public officials to fulfill their duties.
Mayor Lee Kang-deok stated, “In difficult times, please carry out your duties with a sense of mission and unwavering passion solely for the citizens,” adding, “Let us prioritize the better lives of our citizens and the revitalization of the local economy, and do our best for the development of the city.”
