Damyang-gun and Seongnam-si Sign Sisterhood Agreement... Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Lee Byeong-no) and Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do (Mayor Shin Sang-jin) signed a sisterhood agreement for the joint development of the two local governments on the 10th at the first conference room of Seongnam City Hall.


According to Damyang-gun on the 11th, the sisterhood agreement ceremony was held the previous day with about 20 attendees including Lee Byeong-no, Governor of Damyang-gun, Shin Sang-jin, Mayor of Seongnam, Jeong Cheol-won, Chairman of Damyang County Council, and Ahn Gwang-rim, Vice Chairman of Seongnam City Council.


According to the agreement, the two local governments will establish an active cooperation system covering the entire local community including administration, tourism, culture, and arts, and cooperate for the development of both cities by revitalizing private exchanges.


In particular, they plan to promote various projects by leveraging each region’s resources and strengths, such as Damyang’s natural environment and eco-tourism, and Seongnam’s advanced information and communication and life science infrastructure.


Lee Byeong-no, Governor of Damyang-gun, said, “I am pleased to establish a sisterhood with Seongnam-si, a mecca of advanced industry,” and added, “We will actively cooperate in various fields so that both cities can develop together.”


Shin Sang-jin, Mayor of Seongnam-si, emphasized, “I hope that the sisterhood agreement between Seongnam-si, a smart innovation city, and Damyang-gun, a tourism and leisure city, will maximize each other’s strengths and lead to mutual development.”
