From the 2nd to the 6th, the county selected the top 10 news items that resonated most with residents through an online vote among 20 major news items, with 4,126 residents participating.

On June 20th, Yangpyeong Library, the best complex cultural space in Yangpyeong, officially opened.
With a total area of 7,320.9㎡ and four floors above ground, Yangpyeong Library offers indoor views of the Namhan River sparkling with sunlight. It is adjacent to cultural facilities such as Yanggang Island, Mulsorigil walking trail, Yangpyeong County Art Museum, Yangpyeong Cultural Center, and Lifelong Learning Center, making it the center of the Yangpyeong cultural cluster and expected to become a new landmark.
◆ 2nd Place 'Yangpyeong Yongmunsan Wild Vegetable Festival Wins Korea Festival Content Award' (1,733 votes)
The Yangpyeong Yongmunsan Wild Vegetable Festival was recognized as an outstanding festival in Korea by winning the grand prize in the festival economy category at the 12th Korea Festival Content Awards ceremony.
Held in April at the Yongmunsan Tourist Area along with beautiful spring flowers, the festival aimed to be an eco-friendly event without disposable products and without overcharging, attracting about 132,000 visitors and achieving record-breaking success.
◆ 3rd Place 'Yangpyeong-gun Designated as the First Lifelong Learning City for the Disabled' (1,607 votes)
Yangpyeong-gun was selected for the "2024 Lifelong Learning City Operation Project for the Disabled," hosted by the National Institute of Special Education under the Ministry of Education, securing 30 million KRW in national funding.
Following the selection, the county is actively promoting the guarantee of quality lifelong learning rights for the disabled without exclusion or restrictions, operating various projects to build a lifelong learning city where disabled and non-disabled people learn and cooperate together, and to establish a charming Yangpyeong.
◆ 4th Place 'Opening of Semiwon-Dumulmeori Baedari Bridge, Fulfilling the Wish for National Garden Designation' (1,509 votes)
On May 17th, a commemorative ceremony was held for the opening of the traditional Baedari bridge connecting Semiwon and Dumulmeori. After three years of construction due to aging, the reopened Baedari is a pontoon bridge connecting about 200 meters with 44 boats, linking Semiwon, known as the garden of water and flowers, and Dumulmeori, where the North and South Han Rivers meet.
Yangpyeong-gun expects that the opening of Baedari will be a stepping stone for Semiwon, which attracts about 1.7 million tourists annually, to be designated as a national garden and will serve as a new growth engine for regional development.

Yangpyeong-gun ranked first in Gyeonggi Province (14th nationwide) in the 2024 summer vacation satisfaction survey conducted by Consumer Insight, a domestic travel research specialist.
Yangpyeong received high scores for its representative foods such as cold noodles and hangover soup, as well as abundant attractions including Yongmunsan Tourist Complex, Dumulmeori, and Semiwon. The high accessibility via the Gyeongui-Jungang Line subway also increased traveler satisfaction.
◆ 6th Place 'Yangpyeong-gun Establishes Barefoot Walking Trails in All 12 Eup and Myeon' (1,398 votes)
In response to the nationwide barefoot walking trend, Yangpyeong-gun decided to create barefoot walking trails in all 12 eup and myeon using walking paths, parks, village parks, and rivers.
The county has completed administrative preparations such as enacting the "Yangpyeong-gun Barefoot Walking Activation Ordinance" and currently operates barefoot walking trails in Shwijapark, Dogok-ri Linear Park, and Gaegun Sports Park, with plans to discover 13 additional locations by next year.

As of June, the Yangpyeong-gun Hometown Love Donation Fund has surpassed 200 million KRW in cumulative donations and is progressing smoothly. The county plans to intensify promotion of the hometown love donation system until the end of the year, focusing on popular thank-you gifts such as Yangpyeong’s clean water rice, pork, sesame oil, and perilla oil sets, which are eligible for tax deductions.
The county selected the "Chueupsan Azalea and Rhododendron Tourism Resource Development Project" as the first project funded by the hometown love fund, contributing to the cultural and artistic enhancement of local residents through azalea planting, installation of a summit stone, and observation deck, and expects it to serve as a catalyst for further fundraising.
◆ 8th Place 'Vibrant Rural Community Created Through Farming Work Agency Service for Vulnerable Farmers' (1,347 votes)
The "Yangpyeong-gun Farming Work Agency Service for Vulnerable Farmers," which started in March, received great response from farmers, with applicants increasing by more than 40% compared to the previous year. The service targets elderly farmers over 70, female farmers, disabled persons, and basic livelihood security recipients who find farming difficult due to rural population decline and aging, actively helping to solve labor shortages in rural areas and receiving favorable reviews.
◆ 9th Place 'Opening of Yangpyeong-gun Video Media Center, Pioneering a New Horizon in Local Government Media Culture' (1,345 votes)
The Yangpyeong-gun Video Media Center officially opened. Built to promote balanced development between the eastern and western parts of Yangpyeong-gun, the center was reborn by remodeling the existing Cheongun-myeon office and welfare center buildings and is equipped with video and radio studios, a one-person media room, professional editing rooms, equipment storage, and a screening room.
The county plans to expand media education such as live commerce, product filming, and 3D modeling, creating an environment where residents can more easily and creatively produce content.
◆ 10th Place 'Opening of Newly Built Yangpyeong-gun Senior Welfare Center' (1,285 votes)
In July, the opening ceremony of the newly built Senior Welfare Center, long awaited by residents, was held. The Yangpyeong-gun Senior Welfare Center has a total floor area of 11,378㎡ with one basement floor and three floors above ground, equipped with program rooms, a beauty salon, smart health room, fitness room, small meeting rooms, table tennis room, billiards room, senior dining hall, and computer room.
The county expects the center to become a resting and learning place for seniors by establishing all facilities with electronic systems and expanding programs.
Governor Jeon Jin-seon said, “The year 2024 was a year in which we prepared the infrastructure to improve residents’ convenience with the opening of Yangpyeong Library, the reopening of Semiwon Baedari, and the opening of the Senior Welfare Center, and achieved the number one population among basic county units, ushering in the era of 130,000 Yangpyeong residents. I thank the residents for their interest and support for county administration development this year, and next year, we will continue to implement policies that resonate with residents focusing on safety, environment, tourism, and health to create a charming and happy Yangpyeong.”
