Dong-Eui Science University Department of Nursing Conducts Awareness Improvement Campaign to Address Low Birthrate

The Department of Nursing at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology (President Kim Young-do) conducted a "Low Birthrate Response Awareness Improvement Campaign" for students and faculty members at Neulbeotter on the 22nd of last month.

Hosted by the Nursing Department's major-linked program Ma-eummoa and in collaboration with the Busan branch of the Korea Population, Health and Welfare Association, this campaign aimed to raise awareness about issues such as population decline and demographic changes, promote a culture of consideration for childbirth and childcare, and improve social perceptions.

The "Low Birthrate Response Awareness Improvement Campaign" included various activities that students and faculty could directly participate in, such as △pregnant woman experience △education on low birthrate policies △education and surveys on the impact of low birthrate and aging population.

A student who participated in the campaign said, "This campaign made me realize that low birthrate will have a significant impact on society," and added, "I want to start with what I can do now, such as showing consideration for pregnant women around me. It was a meaningful time to think about ways to contribute to population issues as a student."

Professor Kang Da-in, advisor of Ma-eummoa, stated, "Solving the low birthrate problem requires the interest and change in awareness of the entire society. I hope this campaign helps recognize the necessity of overcoming the low birthrate issue and contributes to spreading a social atmosphere that practices small actions, such as leaving seats vacant for pregnant women," and added, "We will continue to work with students to improve awareness in response to the low birthrate."

The Department of Nursing at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology guides students based on an excellent educational environment and practice-oriented education, and recently obtained a 5-year accreditation for its bachelor's degree nursing program in the '2023 First Half Nursing Education Accreditation Evaluation' conducted by the Korean Accreditation Board of Nursing Education.
