Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon argued that it is illogical for the traitor of the insurrection, Yoon Seok-yeol, to hold military command authority and insisted that he should be immediately arrested and impeached.
After meeting with Maeng Seong-gyu, chairman of the National Assembly Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee, on the 11th, Governor Kim told reporters, "According to the testimony of the Special Forces commander, it has become clear that Yoon Seok-yeol is the ringleader of the insurrection, as he ordered to break down doors and drag out members of the National Assembly, and even directly revised the proclamation." He emphasized, "In this situation, it is illogical for Yoon Seok-yeol to hold military command authority even for a single day. I believe he should be arrested immediately, and the National Assembly should promptly proceed with impeachment and make a decision."
Governor Kim also expressed concerns about the impact of this incident on the economy.

He said, "The biggest problem in the economy is uncertainty," and added, "I have experienced the 1997 IMF crisis and was at the forefront of resolving the 2008 global financial crisis as the Blue House Economic and Financial Secretary. From this experience, the current political turmoil is a significant negative factor for our economy."
He continued, "Economic time does not wait for political time," noting, "Since the declaration of martial law, over 1 trillion won has been withdrawn from the foreign stock market by foreign investors in just three days, and the exchange rate has approached the 1,450 won level. To my knowledge, all foreign investments planned until the end of this year are currently on hold."
Furthermore, he lamented, "Our international credit rating has plummeted, and moreover, during the transition of the Trump administration, South Korea has fallen into an uncertain situation where it is unclear who will be the counterpart. On top of that, with the military mobilized under this martial law, the military's status and morale have hit rock bottom."
Regarding the budget bill passed on the 10th, Governor Kim stated, "I have consistently advocated for expanded fiscal spending to secure South Korea's future growth engines and protect vulnerable groups." He advised, "Since the reduced budget bill was passed this time, I believe we need to prepare a supplementary budget quickly and overcome the difficult economic situation with expanded fiscal spending while pioneering future growth engines."
Meanwhile, during his meeting with Maeng Seong-gyu, chairman of the Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee, Governor Kim requested cooperation to actively reflect the 40 railway lines requested by Gyeonggi Province in the government's 5th railway network plan.
