Shows calm demeanor including V sign in official appearance
Jay-Z actively denies sexual assault allegations
American rapper and entrepreneur Jay-Z appeared in public just one day after being sued for sexual assault of a minor. Wearing a black suit and tie, Jay-Z showed a relaxed demeanor, smiling brightly and making a 'V' sign next to his wife Beyonc? and daughter Blue Ivy.
On the 9th (local time), local media including Variety reported that Jay-Z attended the world premiere of the movie Mufasa: The Lion King at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles (LA) with his wife, pop star Beyonc?, and their daughter Blue Ivy Carter. Blue Ivy voiced the character 'Kiara,' the daughter of 'Simba,' in Mufasa: The Lion King. Beyonc? provided the voice for 'Nala,' Simba's wife, in both The Lion King and Mufasa.

Earlier, on the 8th, Jay-Z was sued for raping a 13-year-old girl in 2000. The victim filed a civil lawsuit claiming that she was sexually assaulted by Jay-Z and Puff Daddy (real name Sean Diddy Combs) at the MTV Music Video Awards after-party when she was 13 years old. She stated that after drinking a beverage, she felt dizzy and went to a nearby room to rest, where she was consecutively sexually assaulted by Jay-Z and then Puff Daddy. The victim claimed that she escaped after resisting Puff Daddy but continues to suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder and depression as a result. She also revealed that Jay-Z threatened and intimidated her lawyer, family, and colleagues to prevent her from speaking out, which led her to decide to file additional lawsuits.
On the other hand, Jay-Z has strongly denied the sexual assault allegations. In a statement, he said, "What hurts the most in this situation is my family," adding, "My wife and I will have to sit down with our children, who will be questioned about these claims, and explain the cruelty and greed of people." He continued, "Children at such a young age should never have to go through such things. It is unfair that we have to try to understand the malice aimed at destroying family and humanity."
Jay-Z also accused Tony Buzbee, the victim's lawyer who has handled over 100 lawsuits against Puff Daddy, of extortion and threats. Jay-Z criticized him, saying, "These claims are inherently evil. This is a matter that should be handled as a criminal case, not a civil lawsuit. Anyone who commits such crimes against minors should be in prison. From what I have investigated, this lawyer seems to have a pattern of such theatrical behavior."
