Corning Precision Materials, Two Executive Directors Promoted

Corning Precision Materials announced on the 11th that it has carried out its regular executive personnel appointments for next year, promoting two new managing directors.

Kim Hyun-jung, the company's first female executive promotion and newly appointed managing director, joined in 1994 and has been responsible for various strategic and planning tasks to improve productivity, including establishing quality standardization and management systems on the production line front. Last year, she served as the head of the manufacturing support department and achieved outstanding results.

Woo Kwang-je, the newly appointed managing director, joined in 2006 and was recognized for strengthening the company's future growth engine by leading various core technology development and commercialization projects. After joining the company’s research institute, he promoted research and development (R&D) to improve display material performance and various new item commercialization projects. He was promoted to senior researcher in 2020 and was subsequently dispatched to Corning’s U.S. headquarters research institute for two years, leading several projects.

A company official said, "This executive appointment was made based on managerial capabilities, leadership, and future growth potential."

Corning Precision Materials is the domestic subsidiary of Corning in the United States. It manufactures and supplies display substrate glass, mobile device 'Corning Gorilla Glass,' bendable glass, automotive cover glass, and more. It has also entered the semiconductor glass substrate business. The company was launched in 1995 as Samsung Corning Precision Glass and was integrated into Corning Inc. in January 2014.
