Selection of Outstanding Cases in Biodiversity Conservation Activities
Nongshim announced on the 11th that it won the Grand Prize in the Win-Win Cooperation Program Operation category at the ‘2024 Korea Win-Win Growth Awards’ hosted by the Win-Win Growth Committee.
The Korea Win-Win Growth Awards is a ceremony that discovers and rewards excellent cases that align with the purpose of win-win growth to spread the culture of win-win growth. Nongshim, which had been selected as the top company in the Win-Win Growth Index for six consecutive years, was recognized for its biodiversity conservation activities and community collaboration as exemplary cases.
To preserve the endangered bee ecosystem, Nongshim signed agreements with the National Institute of Agricultural Sciences and the Korea Beekeeping Agricultural Cooperative to support mentoring activities for young and outstanding beekeepers, and contributed to ecosystem protection through the distribution of bee disease management diagnostic kits and the planting of nectar trees. Notably, since the launch of its Honey Twist Snack product, Nongshim has used domestic acacia honey for over 50 years. The amount of domestic honey Nongshim purchases annually reaches approximately 160 tons.
Additionally, Nongshim participated in the Win-Win Growth Committee’s ‘2024 Win-Win Consortium Planning Project’ and contributed to revitalizing small and medium-sized breweries by launching Makgeolli using the intellectual property rights of Nongshim snack brands (Honey Twist Snack, Oksusukkang).
As a win-win program for small and medium-sized partner companies, Nongshim shortened payment deadlines to provide financial support to partners and also established a win-win fund. Furthermore, it took the lead in strengthening the job skills of partner company employees and supporting safety equipment to prevent industrial accidents.
A Nongshim official stated, “We will continue to create exemplary cases of win-win growth where Nongshim, local communities, and partners develop together through various win-win programs.”
