KBS Radio Host: "Jongbuk Jusapa Groups Falsely Accuse Yoon of Being a Rebel Leader"

KBS 'Jeonggyeok Sisa' Host Go Seong-guk Supports Martial Law on Personal Broadcast
"Replace Immediately" Listener Criticism

A KBS radio host made claims on his YouTube channel supporting President Yoon Seok-yeol's December 3 martial law incident.

Goh Seong-guk, the host of KBS Radio's 'Jeonggyeok Sisa,' held a discussion with former Broadcasting Culture Promotion Foundation chairman Go Young-joo on his YouTube channel on the 9th. During the conversation, he stated, "Pro-North Korean Juche faction members are trying to completely annihilate the free right-wing by falsely accusing President Yoon Seok-yeol of being a ringleader of a rebellion," and added, "There was no violation of law by President Yoon during the emergency martial law process, and certainly no violation of the constitution."

Goh said, "The claims coming out of the mouths of pro-North Korean Juche faction members are being indiscriminately spread by left-leaning media, pushing President Yoon to be labeled a ringleader of rebellion and the Yoon Seok-yeol government, the People Power Party, and free right-wing citizens to be branded as rebel forces. This conspiracy has reached its peak," and criticized Han Dong-hoon, leader of the People Power Party, saying, "Even though the president's declaration of martial law was inevitably carried out, the party leader is stepping forward to stop it even before Lee Jae-myung."

Conservative YouTuber Goh was appointed as a KBS radio host in May, which sparked internal criticism. He had previously been selected as a KBS radio host during the Park Geun-hye administration in 2013 and 2014 but stepped down amid controversies over political bias and qualifications.

On the 10th, the viewer board of the 'Jeonggyeok Sisa' program was flooded with criticism from listeners, saying, "Why use someone who runs an extreme right-wing YouTube channel as a current affairs program host? Replace him," and "Do not let a collaborator who makes outrageous remarks claiming martial law was inevitable appear on the show."

The Korean Broadcasting Headquarters of the National Union of Mediaworkers also issued a statement that day, saying, "Goh Seong-guk not only agrees with Yoon Seok-yeol's unconstitutional idea of illegally infiltrating the election commission with martial law troops to verify election fraud but also leads the far-right to provoke and encourage rebellion," and criticized, "How can a current affairs radio host of a public broadcaster, even if it is a personal broadcast, make such absurd remarks while defending power? How can a person incapable of normal thinking host a current affairs radio program on a public broadcaster?"
