Kim Jong-ho, Kibo Chairman: "Active Policy Support for SMEs Entering Latin America"

Meeting Held with Peru Minister of Production

The Korea Technology Finance Corporation (Kibo) announced that Chairman Kim Jong-ho held a meeting with Sergio Gonzalez Guerrero, Peru's Minister of Production, at Kibo's Seoul office on the 10th to discuss cooperation measures for supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).


This meeting was arranged to discuss follow-up measures to the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed between Kibo and the Peruvian Innovation Agency. The MOU was signed in September this year in Lima, Peru, during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) SME Ministers' Meeting, and its main contents include ▲knowledge sharing ▲support for SME growth ▲development of technology evaluation systems.

Peru plans to use the Peru-type Technology Rating System (PTRS), which it received from Kibo, to support the commercialization of technologies by innovative SMEs. Kibo plans to share its accumulated know-how in technology finance to help establish Peru's technology finance system and strengthen mutual support and collaboration between SMEs in both countries. Additionally, Kibo will introduce its technology evaluation system, technology guarantee system, global cooperation cases, and achievements in cooperation with Peru, and will continuously seek cooperation measures between the two countries to support SME growth.


Chairman Kim Jong-ho of Kibo stated, “Latin America is a blue ocean and a new opportunity market for overseas expansion, and Kibo will actively provide policy support for SMEs entering the Latin American market.” He added, “Going forward, Kibo will continue to strengthen global cooperation and lead the spread of K-technology finance by expanding the transfer of technology evaluation systems.”
