Promises to Explore and Promote Expansion of Meal Support for Children
Gyeonggi-do Corporation, HY Co., Ltd. (hy., formerly Korea Yakult), and the Good Influence Store Association have decided to join forces to support vulnerable groups.
Gyeonggi-do Corporation signed a "Business Agreement for Establishing a Social Safety Net for Vulnerable Groups in Gyeonggi-do" on the 10th at the Gyeonggi Startup Campus in Seongnam City. On the 10th, Gyeonggi-do Corporation announced on the 11th that it signed a “Business Agreement for Building a Social Safety Net for Vulnerable Groups in Gyeonggi-do” at the Gyeonggi Startup Campus in Seongnam City. The signing ceremony was attended by Lee Jae-jun, CEO of Gyeonggi-do Corporation; Byun Gyeong-gu, CEO of HY Co., Ltd.; Oh In-tae, CEO of the Good Influence Store Association; Moon Hyeong-geun, Chairperson of the Women, Family, and Lifelong Education Committee of the Gyeonggi Provincial Council; Lee Eun-ju, Director of Child Care in Gyeonggi-do; and about 15 others.
The business agreement was promoted based on a consensus that a public-private cooperation support model is necessary to prevent threats to vulnerable groups such as the elderly, children, women, and youth. Gyeonggi-do Corporation, which operates the Gyeonggi-do Child Meal Support Platform, HY Co., Ltd., and the Good Influence Store Association, which consists of nationwide franchisees supporting children facing food insecurity, plan to explore policies supporting meal-providing children, promote ethical consumption through active publicity, and discover other business models for vulnerable groups starting with this agreement.
Moon Hyeong-geun, Chairperson of the Women, Family, and Lifelong Education Committee of the Gyeonggi Provincial Council, who gave a congratulatory speech, said, “It is very meaningful to explore ways to support vulnerable groups using platforms,” adding, “Through this cooperation, let us establish a new form of social support model and ensure that practical support reaches vulnerable groups.”
Lee Jae-jun, CEO of Gyeonggi-do Corporation, said, “Gyeonggi-do Corporation contributes to Gyeonggi-do’s child meal policies by operating the child meal support platform and supporting meal card payments within Baedal Teukgeup,” and expressed gratitude to HY Co., Ltd. and the Good Influence Store Association for joining in social contributions to support vulnerable groups through this agreement.
Byun Gyeong-gu, CEO of HY Co., Ltd., stated, “HY is a company that has created healthy habits for customers over the past 55 years under the founding philosophy of building a healthy society,” and added, “Through this business agreement, it is very meaningful for Gyeonggi residents to receive a healthy meal and habit, and for HY to practice ESG management.”
Oh In-tae, CEO of the Good Influence Store Association, also said, “This business agreement was promoted to improve the quality of life for children and the happiness of all,” and expressed hope that it would help the healthy lives of food-insecure children in the province and that various public support projects would continue to be carried out together in the future.
