Ulsan Office of Education Publishes Customized Question-Based Teaching Aid Book for Secondary School Teachers

20 Middle and High School Teaching and Learning Design Plans Presented

Support for Class Application, Activation of Student-Centered Classes

The Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Cheon Chang-su) has produced a resource book titled "Questioning Schools, Reflective Students" to enhance middle and high school students' questioning skills and revitalize classroom instruction.


This resource book is designed to move away from rote memorization classes, enabling students to ask questions independently, explore, and engage in deep learning.


In particular, it presents 20 instructional design plans (12 for middle school and 8 for high school) to provide practical support for teachers in designing and conducting "question-based classes." The effectiveness of question-centered instruction is also confirmed through feedback from students and teachers.


Additionally, by utilizing QR codes, students can immediately download learning materials, supporting teachers in promptly applying the lessons. It contains detailed step-by-step content from creating an environment for question-based classes to actual implementation cases.


The resource book extends beyond subject classes to creative experiential activities. It includes various educational activity cases such as question-centered classroom management, club activities, and school events, aiming to spread a "culture of questioning" throughout the entire school.


The main contents of the "Questioning Schools, Reflective Students" resource book include the concept and necessity of question-based classes, 12 subject-specific instructional design plans for middle school, 8 subject-specific instructional design plans for high school, "questioning classrooms," "club operation cases," and "school events linked to questioning schools."


An official from the Ulsan Office of Education stated, "We expect this resource book to provide practical assistance to teachers, activate student-centered classes, and contribute to establishing a culture of questioning in school settings."
