Husso Korea Co., Ltd., a company possessing core technologies for manufacturing advanced equipment such as semiconductors and secondary batteries, will invest 24.4 billion KRW to build manufacturing facilities in the Pyeongtaek Poseung (BIX) district of the Gyeonggi Free Economic Zone Authority.

On the 10th, Choi Won-yong, head of the Gyeonggi Free Economic Zone Authority, signed an investment agreement on this matter at the 8th-floor conference room of the Pyeongtaek Gyeonggi Free Economic Zone, attended by Lee Byung-rak, CEO of Husso Korea Co., Ltd., Jeong Jang-seon, mayor of Pyeongtaek, and Kim Jae-gyun, member of the Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly.

According to the agreement, Husso Korea will invest 24.4 billion KRW by the second half of 2026 to build a semiconductor cleaning parts manufacturing facility covering 6,587㎡ (1,993 pyeong) in the Pyeongtaek Poseung (BIX) district.

The Gyeonggi Free Economic Zone Authority and Pyeongtaek City will support all necessary permits and approvals for factory construction as well as assist in resolving any difficulties arising until completion. Additionally, Husso Korea has committed to contributing to the revitalization of the local economy through the prompt establishment of manufacturing facilities and to striving for environmentally friendly facility operation and management.

This investment will create 36 new jobs in the Pyeongtaek Poseung (BIX) district, stabilize the supply of advanced equipment parts such as semiconductors and secondary batteries, and further strengthen the establishment of a small and medium-sized parts and materials cooperation cluster in future mobility and semiconductor sectors.

Choi Won-yong, head of the Gyeonggi Free Economic Zone Authority, said, "We thank Husso Korea Co., Ltd. for deciding to invest in the Poseung (BIX) district despite difficult domestic and international economic conditions. We promise to spare no administrative support to ensure that resident companies face no difficulties in conducting business within the Free Economic Zone."

Husso Korea Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Japan Husso Industry, has been located in the Pyeongtaek Cheongbuk Eoyeon Hansan Industrial Complex since 2000 and is recognized for its independent technology in semiconductor manufacturing equipment parts and liquid crystal display device parts processing.

The Pyeongtaek Poseung (BIX) district covers a total area of 2.04 million㎡ (620,000 pyeong), including 780,000㎡ of industrial facility land, 550,000㎡ of logistics facility land, as well as residential facilities, neighborhood living facilities, and other support facilities.

Within 5 km of the project area are the Asan National Industrial Complex, Poseung 2 General Industrial Complex, and the Gyeonggi Free Economic Zone Pyeongtaek Hyeondeok district. The district is directly connected to the Poseung IC of the Western Inland Expressway, which will open within the year, dramatically improving transportation conditions.

Meanwhile, the Free Economic Zone Authority changed the development plan last month to allow both domestic and foreign companies to purchase approximately 79,000㎡ of exclusive rental land for foreign-invested companies within the Poseung (BIX) district. The sale price is 1.57 million KRW per 3.3㎡, which is the cost price.
