Lyricist Kim Eana apologized after it was revealed that she used terms from the far-right website Ilbe (Ilgan Best Storage), which sparked controversy.

On the 9th, during MBC Radio's "Starry Night," Kim Eana said, "The weekend and today have been tough already, and our Owls (a nickname for listeners) must have felt even more unsettled," adding, "I was watching everything too, and the controversy in question is definitely not true."

She continued, "At first, I wanted to explain where I encountered that word and in what context I used it. It was very embarrassing," but added, "The more I thought about it, the less important that became. Since I used such an inappropriate word and caused great concern, I am truly sorry about that." She also said, "From now on, I will make sure that such a thing never happens again under any circumstances," and added, "I felt that writing it in text wouldn't convey it well, so I wanted to say it here."

Recently, Kim Eana was embroiled in controversy after it was revealed that she had used inappropriate words in the past. It was reported that she used terms such as "Jwajangmyeon" and "Huoguo," which are derogatory words targeting former President Moon Jae-in, and "Sam-il-han," which means a woman should be beaten once every three days, in internet broadcast chat rooms. When these facts came to light belatedly, netizens criticized her, suspecting that she might be an Ilbe user. In response, on the 7th, Kim Eana defended herself in the comments section of her social media, saying, "I have never been on Ilbe, and until now, I did not know that the source of those words was Ilbe," and added, "I am also one of the citizens who have been angry since the moment martial law was declared." However, as the controversy did not subside easily, it is understood that she clarified again through the broadcast.

Meanwhile, Kim Eana began her career as a lyricist in 2003 and has gained fame as a star lyricist with over 300 hit songs. Some of the songs she wrote lyrics for include Brown Eyed Girls' "Eojjeoda" (Somehow), "Abracadabra," and "Sign," IU's "Jansori" (Nagging), "Good Day," "You and I," "End of a Day," and "Pink Shoes," K.Will's "Please Don't...," Lee Sun-hee's "Meeting You Among Them," and IVE's "I AM," among others.
