Policy to Concentrate on Solving Key Promotion Tasks
Namyangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Joo Gwang-deok) announced on the 10th that from September to November, marking the third year of the 8th term of the elected administration, it conducted a series of touring meetings to listen to the inconveniences of citizens and businesses from the citizens' perspective and to promote proactive administration and regulatory reform.
At the touring meetings, Namyangju City conducted surveys targeting resident autonomy committee members, village chiefs, and heads of social organizations in 16 eup, myeon, and dong districts to gather diverse citizen opinions.
Additionally, the city held on-site meetings with about 1,000 people from 12 organizations including economic groups, businesses, and civic organizations, and conducted in-depth interviews regarding major suggestions.
As a result of the meetings, the city selected a total of 13 key tasks (3 from eup, myeon, and dong districts, 4 from civic organizations, and 6 from economic organizations) and shared the improvement tasks with senior officials of grade 5 and above and representatives from Namyangju Urban Corporation through a briefing session on the directives of the 8th elected administration.
Accordingly, from this month until the first half of next year, the city plans to focus on improving existing laws, policies, procedures, and work methods through interdepartmental collaboration and system improvements to resolve the key tasks. Furthermore, incentives will be given to proactive public officials who achieve remarkable results.
Meanwhile, the ‘2024 Proactive Administration Competition’ will be held on the 19th from 2 PM to 4 PM at the Dasan Hall in City Hall and will also be broadcast live through the official YouTube channel ‘Namyangju TV.’
Namyangju City will determine the rankings in the competition based on evaluations by an on-site citizen judging panel (50%) and online citizen voting (50%). An event will also be held where 30 citizens who participate in voting via QR code will be selected by lottery to receive Starbucks gifticons.
