Meaning of Rebounding Through Original Intent Amid Economic Uncertainty
Next Year Marks the 30th Anniversary of the Venture Business Association Establishment
The Korea Venture Business Association announced that it held the ‘2024 Venture Entrepreneurs Night’ event at 5 p.m. on the 10th at EL Tower in Seocho, Seoul.

The slogan for the event was set as ‘Venture, Connecting the Original Intention.’ It reflects the passion and determination of the venture entrepreneurs who laid the foundation when the Korea Venture Business Association was founded over 30 years ago, and carries the meaning of making a new leap forward through the original intention despite economic uncertainties.
Among the ‘Venture Awards of the Year,’ the ‘Entrepreneur’ category winners were Kwon Seong-taek, CEO of T-Order; Jang Soon-min, CEO of Miracle Solution; and Kwon Nam-hyeok, CEO of Interact. In the ‘Worker’ category, six people including Park Cheol-woong, Director of Able Science Pharma; Yoo Byung-yong, Director of Kyle Isam Jasper; and Eom Won-seop, Head of Research at JR Energy Solution, were selected and received commendations from the Minister of SMEs and Startups.
The newly established ‘Outstanding Startup Support Institution’ award, given to public institutions contributing to the activation of startups, was awarded to Jeju Free International City Development Center, Korea Expressway Corporation, Korea Technology Finance Corporation, Korea Credit Guarantee Fund, Korea Invention Promotion Association, and Korea Institute of Marine Science and Technology Promotion.
During the talk concert held under the theme ‘2024 Venture Story: Why I Do Business,’ CEOs Oh Jin-yeon of Cool School, Je Young-ho of JD Solution, Yoon Ui-jin of JEM Company, and Ryu Jong-hyuk of Seoul Leaf shared their stories, creating a time to evoke empathy among venture entrepreneurs overcoming difficult times together.
Along with this, the award ceremony for the 30th anniversary venture slogan contest was held. The grand prize-winning work was by Shin Eun-bin, titled ‘K-Venture 30th Anniversary. Connecting Growth, Shaping the Future.’ It signifies not only commemorating the achievements of the past 30 years but also continuing growth and creating a new future through change and innovation.
Sung Sang-yeop, Chairman of the Korea Venture Business Association, said, “Despite the challenging domestic and international conditions this year, our venture entrepreneurs have advanced step by step with passion and pioneering spirit in their respective positions,” adding, “I hope that all venture companies will endure the current difficult situation by recalling the original intention and entrepreneurial spirit when overcoming moments they wanted to give up, and make a leap forward into the global market.”
Chairman Sung also added, “Next year marks the 30th anniversary of the founding of the Korea Venture Business Association, and the association will return to the original intention of 30 years ago to diagnose the Korean venture ecosystem and prepare to design the future Korean ventures that can dominate the global market.”
