Shilla University Entrusted Institution ‘Busan City Youth Independence Support Center’ Holds Kimchi-Making Event with Resident Youth

Busan Youth Independence Support Center (Hybrid), a commissioned institution of Silla University (President Heo Nam-sik), held a kimchi-making event with youth.

On the 7th, Busan Youth Independence Support Center (Hybrid) planned a kimchi-making event as part of a self-help group program to provide residents youth with an opportunity to learn the meaning of cooperation and communication, encouraging active participation from the youth.


About 20 participants, including resident youth, volunteers, and agency officials, took part in the kimchi-making activity. Some of the kimchi produced was provided to support the independent living of the participating youth, and the rest will be delivered with gratitude to related organizations and sponsors who helped in the community.


Busan Metropolitan City Youth Independence Support Center (Hybrid) operates self-help group programs to soothe the emotional loneliness of youth living independently as single-person households through various exchange activities, helping them grow into healthy members of society who can rely on and empathize with each other.


Director Jang Joo-hyun said, “Through the kimchi-making activity, I hope the youth experienced the value of sharing and realized their own potential,” adding, “We will strive to ensure that customized services are well supported for youth preparing for independence next year as well.”
