The impeachment motions against Minister of Justice Park Seong-jae and National Police Agency Commissioner Jo Ji-ho were reported to the National Assembly plenary session on the 10th.
The impeachment motions against Minister Park and Commissioner Jo, proposed by the Democratic Party of Korea, will be voted on at the plenary session on the 12th. Earlier, the Democratic Party proposed the impeachment motions on the same day to hold Minister Park and Commissioner Jo accountable for the 'December 3 Martial Law Incident.'
The Democratic Party stated, "Minister Park attended the Martial Law State Council meeting and was in a position to know that the emergency martial law was being evaluated as an act of rebellion, yet he did not point out its unconstitutionality or take active measures to prevent the martial law."

They added, "On the day the emergency martial law was declared and lifted, a key government official (Minister Park) quickly held a meeting at the presidential residence, raising suspicions that this meeting was for discussing a second martial law. This supports the claim that he was comprehensively involved in planning and executing the act of rebellion."
Regarding Commissioner Jo, the Democratic Party stated, "He abused his authority to command and control the police to block members of the National Assembly, a constitutional institution, from entering the National Assembly, infringing on the Assembly's right to demand the lifting of martial law."
They continued, "Commissioner Jo abused his official authority to block members of the National Assembly from entering the Assembly, which effectively made it impossible for the Assembly to exercise its constitutional powers, thus participating in a riot aimed at disrupting the constitutional order."
The impeachment motions must be voted on within 72 hours, 24 hours after being reported to the plenary session.
