The Basic Plan for Carbon Neutrality and Green Growth is a statutory plan linked with the national and Gyeongbuk provincial basic plans, considering regional characteristics, with a planning period of 10 years and established and implemented every five years.

About 30 people attended the briefing, including County Governor Kim Gwang-yeol, Deputy Governor Moon Seong-jun, heads of related departments, and members of the 2050 Carbon Neutrality Green Growth Committee. They presented a detailed roadmap focusing on 31 specific projects across five sectors to reduce greenhouse gases, planning to invest a total of 78.3 billion KRW by 2030 to cut 42,769 tons of carbon.

In particular, to proactively realize carbon neutrality, they plan to secure eco-friendly and effective carbon sinks by promoting regionally specialized projects such as premium honeybee forests, sea forests, and coastal seaweed farms around the county-owned land in Jipum-myeon.

Governor Kim Gwang-yeol emphasized, "Achieving the goal of carbon neutrality requires active interest from the residents and close public-private cooperation," adding, "We plan to continuously discover and implement greenhouse gas reduction projects reflecting regional characteristics."
