From 10 a.m. on the 10th, E-Land Retail (Donga Department Store/NC Outlet) in the Daegu-Gyeongbuk area announced that it held the ‘Love’s Healthy Kimchi Sharing’ event as part of the 2024 Love Sharing campaign at the main entrance plaza of Donga Department Store Shopping Center.
This event is a social contribution activity that E-Land Retail in the Daegu-Gyeongbuk area has been conducting annually without fail in the Daegu region for 15 years since Donga Department Store became part of the E-Land family in 2010. The event is sponsored by E-Land/E-Land Welfare Foundation and organized by E-Land Retail along with prominent welfare organizations in Daegu such as the Daegu Volunteer Center, Social Welfare Council, and Daegu Community Chest of Korea.

On the day of the event, the healthy kimchi sharing involved transporting pre-made kimchi stored in kimchi containers to the shopping center plaza using a forklift. Then, vehicles from various regional comprehensive social welfare facilities were dispatched by time slots, and the E-Land Retail (Donga Department Store, NC Outlet) volunteer team loaded the freshly made kimchi onto designated vehicles using a drive-thru method. A total of 6,000 kg of kimchi was delivered to approximately 1,500 households, including elderly living alone, disabled households, and children and youth from food-insecure families in the region.
The E-Land Retail (Donga Department Store, NC Outlet) volunteer team in the Daegu-Gyeongbuk area has been composed of 950 volunteers, the largest scale in the local distribution industry, since Donga Department Store started anew as part of the E-Land Group family in 2010. They have been actively engaged in community contribution activities, receiving enthusiastic responses and being recognized as an exemplary case of social contribution by the E-Land Group headquarters. Since its launch, the team has prioritized support and consideration for sharing volunteer activities in the Daegu-Gyeongbuk region.
Additionally, representative social contribution activities conducted in the region since 2010 include monthly ‘Love Shopping Basket’ volunteer activities targeting marginalized groups at local branches, annual year-end and second-half kimchi sharing, love briquette sharing volunteer activities, free cultural events for underprivileged grandparent-headed families, support for multicultural families and single mother households, bazaars and volunteer work to assist welfare centers. In cases of major local incidents such as the Daegu subway accident, Paldal New Market, and Seomun Market fires, donations ranging from 100 million to 1 billion KRW in cash and goods have also been delivered to Daegu City and the Daegu Social Welfare Council.
