Sacheon-si Selected as the Nation's Top Institution in Comprehensive Evaluation of Rural Development Projects

Gyeongnam Honored as Best with 1st Place Award

Sacheon City in Gyeongnam announced on the 10th that it was selected as the best institution in the '2024 Comprehensive Evaluation of Rural Development Projects' conducted by the Rural Development Administration.

The Rural Development Administration comprehensively evaluated nine areas, including the implementation performance of rural guidance project innovation strategies and the field dissemination performance of new technologies to resolve on-site difficulties, targeting all agricultural technology centers nationwide.

Three cities and counties with excellent performance were selected and awarded by province, and Sacheon City received the Rural Development Administration Institutional Award, the highest award, as the top in Gyeongnam.

Sacheon City received high evaluations for operating the Technology Diffusion Support Group, field dissemination of new technologies, professional capacity development and fostering young farmers, and practicing prevention of agricultural work safety accidents.

The comprehensive evaluation award ceremony is scheduled to be held at the Gyeongsangnam-do Rural Development Project Performance Report Meeting on the 18th.

Kim Seong-il, director of Sacheon Agricultural Technology Center, said, “This result was achieved through the continuous innovation and challenge of all employees in the agricultural field,” and added, “We will continue to do our best so that Sacheon agriculture can grow further in response to the rapid changes in the agricultural environment.”
