Gwangju Station in Gyeonggi Province has experienced increased inconvenience for citizens using the railway due to two trains assigned to this station being unable to operate during the strike.

Deputy Governor Oh checked the long queues of citizens waiting for trains and requested the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, and Korail to restore the Gyeonggang Line’s operation level to normal at least during commuting hours.

He also requested the Gyeonggi Southern Autonomous Police Committee to deploy police officers to alleviate congestion at the station, which could pose a threat to citizen safety.

Deputy Governor Oh stated, “We will review various policy alternatives and cooperate with related agencies to promptly resolve the congestion issue at Gwangju Station on the Gyeonggang Line in Gyeonggi Province.”
