Samsung Asset Management's KODEX US Investment ETF Series Surpasses 10 Trillion Won

Samsung Asset Management announced on the 10th that the total net assets of the KODEX Exchange-Traded Fund (ETF) series investing in the United States reached 10.4765 trillion KRW. This represents a 155% increase compared to 4.1 trillion KRW at the end of last year. As investor interest in the U.S. stock market has grown, the net assets of KODEX ETFs investing in the U.S. have rapidly increased.

Samsung Asset Management currently offers a total of 51 U.S. investment ETFs, holding the largest lineup in Korea to meet the diverse U.S. investment needs of various investors. The combined net assets of two ETFs representing the U.S. stock market indices, KODEX U.S. S&P 500 TR (2.7 trillion KRW) and KODEX U.S. Nasdaq 100 TR (1.5 trillion KRW), reached 4.2 trillion KRW. These ETFs have the advantage of the lowest fees among similar types, and due to their dividend reinvestment (TR) feature, their returns are higher compared to other products tracking the same indices.

They also have a diverse thematic lineup, including KODEX U.S. Semiconductor MV, which tracks the same index as SMH, the world's largest U.S. semiconductor ETF, and KODEX U.S. AI Power Core Infrastructure, which gathers beneficiaries of power shortages due to advancements in artificial intelligence (AI).

Strategically responding to different economic phases, the lineup includes S&P 500 sector ETFs and KODEX U.S. Russell 2000 (H), which invests in the Russell 2000 index representing small- and mid-cap stocks expected to benefit from domestic economic revitalization following President Trump's election. This is the only product of its kind in Korea, reflecting the needs of various investors.

As the first in Korea to list an ETF tracking the daily SOFR rate, KODEX U.S. Dollar SOFR Rate Active, and by collaborating with U.S. asset manager BlackRock to list high-yield and investment-grade corporate bond ETFs, Samsung Asset Management has expanded opportunities for domestic investors to efficiently invest in various U.S. bonds beyond U.S. Treasury bonds.

The monthly distribution product lineup, which began with KODEX U.S. Dividend Covered Call Active?an ETF investing in U.S. dividend stocks while executing a flexible covered call strategy and receiving positive responses?continues to list differentiated products tailored to investor demand. This year, products such as KODEX U.S. AI Tech Top 10 Target Covered Call, KODEX U.S. 30-Year Treasury Target Covered Call, and KODEX U.S. Nasdaq 100 Daily Covered Call OTM, which combine covered call strategies with various U.S. assets, have gained significant popularity.

U.S. ETFs listed domestically offer tax benefits when using ISA accounts or retirement pension accounts, providing efficient tax savings. In April, Samsung Asset Management significantly reduced the total expense ratio to 0.0099% for four representative U.S. index ETFs, including KODEX U.S. S&P 500 TR and KODEX U.S. Nasdaq 100 TR, reducing investors' cost burdens and improving accessibility to U.S. investments.

Im Tae-hyuk, Executive Director and Head of ETF Management at Samsung Asset Management, said, "Recently, direct overseas investments have rapidly increased, but considering currency exchange and trading costs, investing in the KODEX U.S. ETF series, which offers low fees and abundant liquidity, is efficient." He added, "We will continue to introduce diverse and innovative U.S. ETF lineups so that all investors can access all types of U.S. investments through KODEX ETFs alone."
