Seven Overestimated or Non-Essential Projects Cut by 680.88 Million Won

Daejeon City Council Approves Next Year's Budget and Fund Management Plan Deliberation of the 282nd 2nd Regular Session Budget and Accounts Special Committee / City Council

The Daejeon Metropolitan Council's Special Committee on Budget and Accounts announced that it reviewed and approved the 2025 budget proposal and fund management plan for Daejeon from the 3rd to the 9th.


The total size of the 2025 budget proposal submitted by the mayor is 6,677,096 million won, a 2.2% increase compared to the finalized budget, while the fund management plan is 724,026 million won, a 23% decrease compared to the finalized plan.


The committee reduced 680.88 million won from seven projects in the general account expenditure budget that were deemed to be excessively allocated or unnecessary, and reallocated the amount to internal reserves. In addition, 200 million won was cut from two projects in the special account expenditure budget that were considered to be excessively allocated and was also reflected in internal reserves.


The 2025 fund management plan was approved as originally proposed, as there were no particular issues with either the income or expenditure plans.


The 2025 budget proposal is scheduled for final approval at the 3rd plenary session on the 13th.
