The National Police Agency's Special Investigation Unit for Martial Law stated, "We have requested former Commander Park to appear and are coordinating the investigation schedule."

Former Commander Park is suspected of issuing Proclamation No. 1 during the martial law period and requesting National Assembly control from Police Chief Jo Ji-ho.

Earlier, former Commander Park was placed under an emergency travel ban. The emergency travel ban is a restrictive measure imposed when there is an urgent necessity beyond a regular travel ban, structured similarly to an emergency arrest in terms of requirements.
