'Video and Advertising Roles for Busan as a Global Hub City'
Busan Broadcasting Video Forum (President Kim Chi-yong, Professor of Game Engineering at Dong-Eui University, Director of External Cooperation) held the ‘19th Busan Video Contest Awards Ceremony and Seminar’ on the 6th at the Public Hall of Busan Viewer Media Center.
The event was hosted by Professor Jung Mi-young of Dongmyung University, with about 90 attendees including Kim Chi-yong, President of Busan Broadcasting Video Forum, Lee Sang-ho, Executive Director (Professor at Kyungsung University), Gong Ji-heun, Business General Director (Professor at Dong-Eui University Graduate School of Storytelling), Yang Hong-seok, Director of Busan Viewer Media Center, Kim Deok-yeol, Chairman of Busan Youth Policy Research Institute, award winners, and Busan citizens. The seminar was held under the theme ‘The Role of Video and Advertising for Busan as a Global Hub City.’
Following this, the second part of the event featured the awards ceremony for the 19th Busan Video Contest winners, including 1 Grand Prize, 1 Excellence Award, 2 Merit Awards, 10 Encouragement Awards, and 5 Special Awards. The Grand Prize was awarded to Lee Hyun-min for the work ‘Speed Busan Tourism Quiz,’ receiving the Busan Mayor’s Award and a prize of 2 million KRW. The Excellence Award went to Kim Ki-min, Hyun Soo-kyung, Jo Min-jung, Lee Bong-hyun, and Song Ji-hye for the work ‘Be Charmed to Busan,’ receiving the Chairman’s Award of the Busan Youth Policy Research Institute and a prize of 1 million KRW.
The Merit Awards were given to Park Hyo-min, Kim Mi-ji, Jung Yoon-jung, Lee Chae-hyun, and Ryu Hyun-joon for the work ‘Wonderful Jung-gu,’ and to Jo Yoo-jin for the work ‘Be with Busan.’
Kim Chi-yong, President of Busan Broadcasting Video Forum, said, “This contest was meaningful as many people participated regardless of region or generation,” adding, “As discussed in the seminar, our forum will continue to consider and support the role of broadcasting and video for Busan as a global hub city.”
Busan Broadcasting Video Forum and the Viewer Media Foundation’s Busan Viewer Media Center accepted submissions for the ‘19th Busan Video Contest’ from October 1 to November 3, with themes including △the excellence of Busan’s culture, arts, and history △Busan as a global hub city △Busan’s charm as the best tourist destination in Northeast Asia △Green Smart City Busan and climate change. A total of 80 works were submitted.
Busan Broadcasting Video Forum, established in September 2003 with the purpose of developing the video culture industry in the Busan region through industry-academia-government-research networks, has over 130 experts and professionals related to broadcasting and video content participating.
