Gimhae City, Public Late-Night Pharmacies Open Wide in Jinyeong from New Year

Gimhae City in Gyeongnam announced on the 9th that Samsung Pharmacy in Jinyeong-eup will operate as a public late-night pharmacy starting in 2025.

According to the city, Samsung Pharmacy located on Jinyeong-ro in Jinyeong-eup will be open during nighttime hours from 9 PM to midnight starting from the new year, providing medication dispensing and sales, as well as medication guidance and consultations.

Currently, there are two public late-night pharmacies operating in Gimhae: Myeongin Pharmacy in Jangyu in the western area and Gimhae Donghyeon Pharmacy in Oedong in the eastern area.

The city explained that it is expanding the public late-night pharmacies, which operate 24/7 throughout the year, to reduce citizens' inconvenience in purchasing medications during vulnerable medical hours such as late at night or holidays, and to decrease unnecessary emergency room visits by patients with mild symptoms.

Shin Giljae, head of the Western Health Center, said, “With the designation of the public late-night pharmacy in the Jinyeong area, safe medication purchase and consultations during nighttime hours have become possible,” adding, “We will continue to do our best to resolve medical inconveniences in the Jinyeong area.”
