Pyeongtaek City "No Impeachment, More Instability"... 'Regional Stability Task Force' Activated

Pyeongtaek City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 9th that it will operate the 'Regional Stability Task Force,' which was planned to be activated after the presidential impeachment.

The city explained that this measure was taken because the presidential impeachment motion in the National Assembly failed to pass due to insufficient quorum, and it is expected that political, social, and economic turmoil in the region will intensify.

The task force, led by the vice mayor as the general head, consists of five teams: ▲Regional Stability Task Force ▲Regional Economic Task Force ▲Vulnerable Groups Task Force ▲Disaster Recovery Task Force ▲Public Relations Team. The city plans to resolve public anxiety factors and carry out current tasks without disruption through the operation of the task force.

The Regional Stability Task Force is responsible for managing local trends and establishing service discipline, while the Regional Economic Task Force handles complaints from businesses and small merchants and implements measures to stabilize local prices. Additionally, the Vulnerable Groups Task Force promotes protection measures for homeless people and vulnerable households during the winter season, and the Disaster Recovery Task Force conducts safety inspections of vulnerable facilities and implements damage recovery measures.

Jang-seon Jeong, mayor of Pyeongtaek City, said, "Since the presidential impeachment motion did not pass, national uncertainty has increased, and social turmoil is expected to last for a long time," adding, "We will prioritize regional stability by activating the Regional Stability Task Force."
