The police launched a forced investigation on the 8th into the residence, office, and home of former Minister of National Defense Kim Yong-hyun.
The National Police Agency's National Investigation Headquarters Emergency Martial Law Special Investigation Unit announced that they conducted a search and seizure from 10 a.m. to 7:20 p.m. that day, securing a total of 18 items including mobile phones, PCs, and laptops.
A police official explained, "We will focus on proving the charges through analysis such as forensic examination of the seized materials."
Earlier, the National Investigation Headquarters formed an Emergency Martial Law Special Investigation Unit of about 150 members by adding more than 30 investigators from the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Investigation Division Chief, the National Investigation Headquarters' Major Crime Investigation Division, and the Crime Intelligence Division to the dedicated investigation team for the emergency martial law-related complaint cases.
