Jokook "Handonghoon Plots Second Personal Coup"... Prime Minister Handeoksu Impeachment Push Yonhap News

On the 8th, the Party for National Innovation criticized the statement in which Prime Minister Han Deok-su and People Power Party leader Han Dong-hoon announced their intention to jointly manage the political situation, calling it "a conspiracy with the ringleader of the insurrection and military rebellion, Yoon Seok-yeol, to orchestrate a 'second personal coup d'?tat.'"

At the Innovation Party's 'Impeachment Promotion Committee' meeting held at the National Assembly that day, Party leader Jo Guk pointed out, "They say they will substitute the president's duties through weekly meetings between the Prime Minister and the ruling party leader, but is there any constitutional or legal basis for this?"

He particularly targeted Leader Han, stating, "He has never been democratically delegated the authority to govern by the people, so how can he replace the president together with the Prime Minister?" and condemned, "That in itself is unconstitutional and illegal."

Leader Jo also declared, "We will pursue impeachment motions against Prime Minister Han, who attended the Cabinet meeting during the 'December 3 Emergency Martial Law' declaration, and Minister of Justice Park Seong-jae," asserting, "Prime Minister Han, Minister Park, and Minister of the Interior and Safety Lee Sang-min are highly likely to be co-principals or accomplices in the military rebellion."

He further criticized the special investigation headquarters of the prosecution for summoning former Minister of National Defense Kim Yong-hyun overnight, saying, "Special Investigation Headquarters Chief Park Se-hyun is a junior alumnus of Han Dong-hoon from Hyundai High School and Seoul National University Law School," and added, "Treason is not within the prosecution's jurisdiction, yet they are conducting an irregular investigation."

The Innovation Party is in the final stages of drafting the 'Second Impeachment Motion against President Yoon,' which includes suspicions that President Yoon ordered Counterintelligence Commander Yeo In-hyung to arrest politicians from both ruling and opposition parties, including Leader Jo, during the martial law period, as well as allegations that the martial law troops attempted to seize control of the Central Election Commission.

However, according to Article 65 of the Constitution, an impeachment motion against the president must be proposed by a majority of the total members of the National Assembly.
