Exploring Measures to Revitalize Busan Regional Emergency Medical System and Strengthen Mutual Cooperation Among Related Organizations
Committed to Providing Emergency Medical Services That Citizens Can Use with Confidence
On the 4th, Busan City held the '2024 Emergency Medical Related Agencies Workshop' at the Busan Port International Exhibition & Convention Center to explore ways to revitalize the emergency medical system in the Busan area.
Hosted by the city and organized by the Busan Emergency Medical Support Center, this workshop was held to address issues such as accumulated fatigue and intensified conflicts among emergency medical personnel due to the ongoing severe stage of the health and medical disaster crisis alert, and to strengthen coordination and cooperation among emergency medical related agencies.
About 120 officials from the city, Fire and Disaster Headquarters, district and county health centers, emergency medical institutions, and the Busan Metropolitan City Emergency Medical Support Center attended the workshop.
The workshop covered topics including ▲awards for contributors to emergency medical services ▲this year’s emergency medical achievements and introduction of next year’s projects ▲operation status of the 'Busan Metropolitan City Emergency Medical Support Team' and the 'Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam Regional Emergency Medical Situation Room' ▲analysis of ambulance situation management center tasks ▲presentation of disaster response activity cases ▲and sharing of emergency medical institution situations.
Following this, a Q&A session was held to exchange opinions on enhancing communication and cooperation.
Notably, this year saw the opening of the ‘Busan Metropolitan City Emergency Medical Support Team’ and the ‘Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam Regional Emergency Medical Situation Room.’ Accordingly, the ‘Busan City Customized Emergency Patient Transport Guidelines’ were revised, and tasks such as ‘severe emergency patient transport and transfer’ are being carried out, which is expected to play a significant role in securing the golden time for emergency patients in the future.
Lee Sora, Director of the City’s Citizen Health Bureau, stated, “We will continue to do our best to enhance understanding of emergency medical policies through such workshops and establish a close cooperation system among related agencies so that citizens can use emergency medical services with confidence even in emergency medical systems.”
